2023 PSLE English Situational Writing

Hi Gary,

How are you? I hope you are doing well!

When I was browsing the school website, I came across an event called ‘Read for Books’, which is open to all Primary Six students. The event will be held on 11 October 2023, in the school hall, at 2 p.m. By participating in the event, Glory Bookstore will donate new books to the school library.

Nora and I are interested to join this book event, as we feel that our school library truly needs a greater diversity of reading materials. It will be extremely meaningful if we can do our part in contributing to the school library, as I believe that we are doing a big service to our fellow schoolmates. Remember when you complained about the school library needing more books? Now is the perfect chance to increase the number and variety of books in the school library! If you join our group in this event, I am sure that we can add many new additions to the school library.

To participate in the event, we just have to complete two easy steps. Before the day of the event, we would have to sign up as a group of three by scanning the QR code on the webpage. On the day of the event, each group has to read silently for 20 minutes. After that, all we have to do is to pen down our personal feelings about the joy of reading on a piece of paper. Next, we will have to submit our comment to any teacher in the hall, who will upload our inputs onto the event page. For every comment uploaded, Glory Bookstore will donate a new book to the school library.

As the event is limited to the first 50 groups only, it is important that we sign up soon before the slots are gone. It is truly a meaningful event that I do not want us to miss out on, so I look forward to hearing good news from you soon!
