A Better Tomorrow

I still remember the most difficult time when I decided to join a secret society.

It all happened when I was 15. I was just a naïve active and reckless girl.

One night, I came across a group of girls at a shopping centre with my best friend, Fandy. All of them looked very cool and stylish. One of them told us frankly that they would form a secret society and invited us to join them. Fandy kept on reminding me that it was dangerous to mix with them, but I did not heed her advice. From then on, I became one of them. I started smoking, gambling and skipping school.

One day, they took me to a void deck and gave me a packet of “Ecstasy”. I said no to them at first because I realized very clearly that I would end up in jail if I was caught by the police. Then, one of the girls stared at me fiercely and said, “Coward! Are you a coward? Just take it. Don’t be scared!” To prove to them that I was not a coward. I accepted it at once.

After that, I often had a headache, fever, cold and

Insomnia. I kept on wanting more and more. I really could not resist it at all. At any time when I stopped taking it, I would be feeling uncomfortable and shivering. With no other alternatives,I had to buy it from the girls with the money I stole from my parents.

Eventually, I was arrested by the police. The police sent

Me to the Drug Rehabilitation Centre for treatment. I hope to nurse myself back to health. I am deeply ashamed of myself and determine to turn a new leaf of life. I firmly believe that there is a hope for a better tomorrow, a drug-free tomorrow.....
