A ‘Fishy’ Experience

One early and bright morning, Tom and Arul were fishing at a stream. They had been fishing for a long time. Arul waited patiently until he dozed off. Suddenly, Tom’s fishing rod tugged!He tried very hard to pull his rod up, but unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell into the stream.

“Splash!” Both Tom and his rod were in the water. As Tom didn’t know how to swim, he screamed for Arul, “A-R-U-L!” the noise woke Arul up. When he saw his friend in the water, he was horrified! He started looking for something. At last, he found a long and strong stick behind a rock. Arul threw the stick out to Tom and told him to catch hold of it.

Soon, the cold and trembling Tom was out of the water.He felt a jumping movement inside his “Water” pocket. To his amusing surprise, he discovered a big and fat fish inside! “Arul!I caught a fish! I caught a fish!” cried Tom, Arul also became excited and jumped for joy.

Later, Tom took off his shirt and wrung it hard for it was totally wet. As Tom was hanging his shirt out to dry, Arul was preparing to barbecue the fish. He quickly gathered a few sticks and made a warm and lovely fire.

Late in the afternoon, Tom and Arul were sitting near the fire to enjoy their meal. It was delicious indeed because the fish they barbecued was really crispy and fresh.
