A Haunted House

As a child, I had often heard stories about the empty house that stood on a hilltop before our house. People said it was haunted by the spirit of an old drunkard.

Tonight, my friends Ali and Soon are going with me to investigate the old house. According to rumours, the old drunkard would sit in his chair and drink, sing and cry before he disappeared.However, he only made his appearance when someone was around. We want to find out for ourselves if this is all true.

There is a full moon. We set out to climb the small hill. Soon we are by the house. I feel shivers running up and down my spine. We have a clear view of an opened window. We sit and wait. Before long, two of my friends are dozing. I am still fully awake. Then I see it. A very old man with a mug in hand. He looks straight at me, raises his mug and smiles. I faint out of sheer terror.

There is not a chance that I am ever going near that house again.
