A Horror Story

Jojo was the class clown. A stout boy, he had curly black hair and a pleasant smile. He smiled all the time. Even when the teacher was scolding him, he would smile.

In class, during lessons Jojo had a curious habit. Whenever the teacher threw some questions to the class, Jojo would crack his knuckles. A cracking sound would inevitably be heard during the short silences that always followed a teacher’s question.

Many times, teachers tried to stop him from committing this irritating act, but Jojo just could not do it. He could not stop.Finally, everyone just got used to it.

Then, one day, the class received news. Jojo had died in an accident. The whole class was very sad. So were the teachers.Soon, things began to return to normal again though we all still missed Jojo.

One day, something strange happened in class. During a history lesson, Miss Gomez threw a question to the class. There was a short silence. Then, a familiar cracking sound filled the quiet about us. Instinctively, we all turned to look at Jojo’s seat.The empty chair had been pulled aside from the table. The whole class trembled. No one was on the seat!
