A Jellyfish Nearly Marred Jane’s Windsurfing

It was a fine, windy morning. The scene was at the East Coast Sea Sports Centre. The tide was high and the sea was clear and deep. Grabbing her equipment, she raced to the sea to surf. Soon she was happily riding the waves. She pulled up the sail and controlled it as she glided along quite smoothly. She said to herself, “It’s fun and there’s a teeling of being in power. I can make it move with my own strength and skill, and manoeuvre it any way I want.” She was in high spirits as the current was taking her further away from the shore. All of a sudden, a huge wave sent her losing her grip on the board and to a dunking in the water. Moments later, she clambered up and resumed her surfing.

At round noon, a strong wind was blowing and it added to her delight and satisfaction of surfing. Suddenly, a jellyfish appeared before her and was fast approaching her. The thought of being stung by a poisonous jelyfish flashed through her mind. All flustered and panicky,Jane, the novice windsurier, tried her best to maintain her balance on the board. At this juncture, luck was on her side. A change of current flow helped her to steer away from the potential hazard. It was a close shave for her.
