A Mistake

It was midnight. Patricia was still happily playing computer games when she suddenly remembered that there was an English test the next day. She immediately stopped playing and started revising her work. When she finished, it was already threp o’clock in the morning.

The next day, her mother hurriedly woke up her daughter Although Patricia was very sleepy, she quickly took her breakfast and rushed off as she would be very late for school.

When Patricia finally reached the school, she saw that it was already half past seven! She stepped into her classroom and knew that the test was being conducted. She greeted her teacher and apologized to her for being late.

Fortunately, her teacher did not reprimand her, but just told her to sit down and start the test. Patricia thought that she was all ready for the test so she began to do it with confidence But halfway through, her mind suddenly went blank. She could not think of anything at all.

Patricia began to panic. She almost cracked her head but still could not get the answers. When the time, was yp, she had not even finished doing the first four pages! When Patricia went home, her mother asked her how the test was. Patricia did not dare to tell her the truth. Instead, she told her that the test was fine. She locked herself up in her bedroom all day long and wondered why she could not think of the answers during the test.Start revising two weeks before a test. Do not burn the midnight decided to tell her mother the truth, but in the end, she just kept quiet.

Three days later, Patricia got her test paper back. What a shock she got when she looked at her marks! She could not believe her eyes. A big red number ‘30’ was written on the test paper. Suddenly, an idea struck. She took out her correction tape and changed the marks from ‘30’ to ‘80’. She thought that by doing this, her mother would not be able to find out the truth.

When Patricia returned home, she handed her mother the test paper. Her mother was very pleased with her at first, but after checking, she found out that her daughter had told her a lie. She was fuming mad and insisted to know the truth. Patricia knew that her secret was discovered. She told her mother the whole story and apologized to her in the end.
