A Price to Pay

One fine day, Sean and I were going to Ronald’s flat when we noticed a group of boys in a corner of a deserted playground Sean went closer to see what they were actually doing. They were shabbily dressed and were smoking and sniffing glue. Realizing that they were being watched, they walked towards us One of the boys said in a hoarse voice, “Why are you staring af us? Never seen before?” We ignored them and continued our way to Ronald’s house.

As soon as we arrived at Ronald’s house, we related the whole matter to Ronald’s parents. Ronald’s mother said that she had also noticed that group of boys whenever she went marketing. Then, we decided to call the police and let them handle the situation. I dialed “999” and told the police the reason for calling them. In a few minutes, four policemen came. They looked out of the windows. Indeed, the group of boys was still there. The police decided to go down to the playground to arrest those glue-sniffers.

When the police reached the ground floor, the boys started running away. However, the police could run faster than any of them. Eventually, all the boys were arrested. The policetook them to the police station for further investigation.

A few days later in the newspaper, it was reported that the boys were taken to the Reformatory Centre for treatment. The police praised us for being good citizens and thanked us for assisting those boys to turn a new leaf.
