A Stranger

| was alone at home that night. My parents had gone to a party and would be coming home late. As I was reading a storybook, I heard a knock on the door. I looked through the key hole. It was a stranger who was well-dressed, wearing a tie lounge-suit and leather shoes.

He said, “I’m your mother’s friend, I came to deliver a present.” He offered me a box of sweets but I refused his offer He kept saying, “Accept my offer.” He stayed outside my house for quite some time. I grew frightened as he refused to leave. I closed the door and rang the police post.

A few minutes later, some policemen came but the stranger was gone. They asked me some questions which I managed to answer well. Soon, my parents came home. They were puzzled and curious.

I told them what had happened from the beginning to the end. They reminded me not to open the door to any strangers and said, “We’ll never leave you alone at home again.” Then, the Policemen went off and I never saw the stranger again.
