A Teenaged Burglar Fell To His Death

It was almost three a.m. A teenaged burglar, Andrew, scaled a drainpipe and entered a fourth-storey private flat. He was armed with a torch and masked. A cloth bag of housebreaking tools was slung across his shoulder. He walked stealthily so as not to arouse the occupants from their sleep. The premises was dark and quiet. Flashing his torch around, he crept and entered the master bedroom. The sole occupant, a lady in her fifties, was fast asleep. The window was open and a cool breeze was blowing in. Andrew acted fast. He prised open the drawers of the wardrobe silently. He was successful. His eyes gleamed with pleasure as diamond rings, gold ornaments, gold bars and a thick wad of fifty-dollar banknote appeared before him. He was scooping the loot into his cloth bag when, suddenly, the lady woke up. She was, apparently, going to the toilet to answer nature’s call. Andrew took cover and hid under the bed. The occupant did not sense anything amiss and headed for the toilet.

With the lady out of sight, Andrew resumed stuffing his cloth bag with his loot. Halfway, the lady returned and surprised him, thrown him oft-guard. Her screams sent Andrew fleeing through the fourth-storey window and to his death. The loot was found beside his body. He suffered multiple head, facial and bodily injuries. A pool of blood was nearby. The pavement was splattered with blood. It was a horrifying scene!
