A Visit To A Safari Park

During the last June holidays, my family and I went on the most unforgettable tour of our lives. We went to Kenya in Africa for a safari. We had to take a six-hour flight to Johannesburg which is in South Africa and then transfel to another flight to Kenya. The flight to Kenya took about three hours. We were quite exhausted by the time we arrived at the airport. However, it was not the end of our journey yet. We still had to take a two-hour coach ride to reach our destination.

We were to stay at the Safari Hotel, which was quite near the Safari Park. We were very relieved when we finally reached the hotel. It was a lovely hotel. It was built to resemble a huge mansion. I love our rooms especially because we had huge balconies and the balconies overlooked some really splendid scenery. My sister and I shared a room while my parents had their own room. We had joined a tour group and we were the only children in the group.

The next morning, after a huge breakfast, we got ready for our first day at the Safari Park. We were supposed to go to different parts of the park on different days. The park was really large. According to my father, it is almost about three-quarters the size of Singapore! On the first day, we were supposed to go look at grassland animals like zebras,giraffes and deer. Hopefully we might even catch a glimpse of a cheetah.

We were very fortunate because we caught more than a glimpse of a cheetah. We actually saw a cheetah chasing a baby elephants. They looked really cute and adorable. We did not find the ostriches appealing because they looked rather silly but they could run really fast.

After five enjoyable days, it was time for us to leave Kenya and head on to Johannesburg to continue our tour.We had a good time at Johannesburg but we wished we could have stayed longer in the Kenya Safari Park. It was a really enjoyable and memorable holiday. In fact, I promised myself that I would go again on my own when I am big enough to do so.
