A Visit to the Dentist

“Ouch!” he cried,”My teeth hurts!” he said.

Oh dear me,” said his mother, “looks like I shall have to take you to the dentist.”

Soon, Atan and his mother were inside the dentist’s clinic Atan sat anxiously waiting for his turn to come. There were a few other people with sullen faces in the clinic too.

Atan had heard many scare stories about dentists. He heard that they worked with hammers and drills. One by one, the patients came out of the dentist’s room. Atan’s turn was next.

He began to cry aloud. He was too frightened. He told his mother to take him home. A lady came out of the dentist’s room”Oh dear me,” she said kindly. “Please do not be afraid, I promise you won’t feel anything in the dentist’s chair.” Atan braved himself. He sat quietly in the large reclining chair. The lady, who was the dentist, injected something into his gums. It felt like an ant’s bite.

Suddenly, without Atan realising it, his bad tooth was out. He did not feel a thing. Atan was so relieved. He thanked the dentist many times. In no time at all, Atan and his mother were on their way home again. Atan felt much better with his bad tooth out.
