PSLE CONTINOUS WRITING COMPOSITIONS

As I pushed a shopping trolley through the supermarket with my mother, I noticed a donation box near the entrance. It was filled with canned food, clothes and other necessities for needy families. Curious, I stopped to read the poster beside it.

The poster explained that many families were struggling to make ends meet. Feeling sorry for them, I decided to contribute. My mother smiled and encouraged me to choose some items.

As we shopped, I carefully selected several cans of food, packets of biscuits and a warm blanket. Although they were not expensive, I hoped they would brighten someone's day. After paying for our groceries, I carried the items to the donation box and placed them inside.

A week later, our school organised a visit to a community centre where the donated items were distributed. There, I saw a young boy receiving a bag of food and clothes. His eyes sparkled with joy as he thanked the volunteers repeatedly. Seeing his grateful smile warmed my heart.

At that moment, I realised that generosity was not about giving large amounts of money. Even a small act of kindness could make a huge difference in someone's life. The happiness on the boy's face was worth far more than the cost of the items I had donated.

As I left the community centre, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction. That experience taught me that generosity has the power to bring hope and happiness to others. Since then, I have always looked for opportunities to help those in need.
