An Alien

When June awoke, the room was completely dark. She wondered how she got there. Then, she remembered something” was watching the television programme ‘Star Wars’,” she thought. “Then, why am I here? This is not my room.’

All of a sudden, the room shook tremendously. She then realized that it was not a room but something like a spaceship!Shortly after, a creature with a funny look stepped in. It did not look like a human being but some sort of alien. “Help!” screamed June. “Who are you? What do you want?”

The alien gave June a gentle smile and said in a queer voice, “I am Robotoe and this is my spaceship. I came from outer space. My master there requires a new shadow very badly and therefore, he has sent me over here to buy it from you.”

“What! Don’t tell me you are one of those creatures that appeared in the television programme!” exclaimed June. “Very sorry! I don’t intend to let you have my shadow. You’d better go back and give your master your own!”

The alien started crying sadly. “Please let me, have your shadow, young lady. I’ll give you anything you want.”

June thought for a while and told the alien that she wanted a puppy in return. The alien agreed and granted June’s wish at once. A puppy, with brown and white patches on its body, appeared from nowhere. The alien walked towards June, drew out a pair of slivery scissors and cut out June’s shadow.

After a bow, the alien swung his hand and June was back to her room with the puppy: She hugged the puppy affectionately and named it “Alien” after the cute and courteous creature.
