An Exciting Day In A Game Reserve

One sunny morning, two male tourists, Michael and Frankie, went on a cruise in a land-rover. It was a conducted tour of the sprawling game reserve. Two friendly tourist guides accompanied them. This reserve accommodated different kinds of animals and provided them a sanctuary. The place was out of bounds to poachers and hunters Michael and Frankie were filled with excitement when they spotted giraffes eating leaves, ostriches in full flight, vultures circling overhead and waiting for a dying animal to finish its last breath, and eagles soaring in the blue sky and looking for their prey. Frankie exclaimed, “Look over there! The baby elephants are drinking water at the waterhole!” The driver stopped the vehicle and allowed Frankie to take snapshots of the cute animals.

When they reached a crocodile-infested river, they got off the vehicle. They intended to see the reptiles going about their daily lives at first hand. As they kept watch in the shade, they saw a mother crocodile guarding its nest jealously at a distance. Further away, a deer was quenching its thirst. A crocodile appeared on the surface and kept still. It looked like a log, lifeless and silent. The deer did not take much notice of it. Suddenly, the ‘log’ sprang into life. The reptile lashed its tail at the unsuspecting animal and grabbed its leg as it fell into the water. At this juncture, as Michael and Frankie were watching the drama, a large crocodile crawled up the river bank and nearly devoured them. An alert tourist guide raised the alarm and they fled for dear life.
