An Exciting Experience

Last year, my uncle and aunt brought us to Sunway Lagoon. Sunway Lagoon is a theme park in Kuala Lumpur. There are all kinds of rides there and one of the most exciting and unforgettable rides is the roller-coaster ride. My two cousins, my uncle and aunt and I took a plane to Kuala Lumpur. It was a very short plane ride. From the airport, we took an hour’s taxi ride to Sunway Lagoon.

When we reached Sunway Lagoon, it was lunch time. We checked into our hotel rooms and then went to the hotel restaurant for a quick lunch. The weather was marvellous. The sky was bright blue with not a single cloud in it and the sun was shining brightly. There was a strong and cool breeze blowing. After lunch, we quickly changed into our swimming costumes and relaxed at the pool.

Then, we decided to go on the water slides. They were ery fun and they were very similar to the ones at Fantasy sland in Sentosa. After that, my cousins suggested that we go for a roller-coaster ride. My aunt was quite worried but the rest of us managed to persuade her to come along with us.

We went back to our rooms to change quickly. Then, we proceeded to the theme park which was situated quite near the hotel. It was quite crowded and we had to join a long queue to ride on the roller-coaster. My aunt, who was quite afraid of heights, was having second thoughts and she tried her very best to persuade us not to go on. Her persuasions fll on deaf ears of course. My aunt then decided that she would not go on because she was really afraid. I was actually a little nervous too but I did not want to appear ‘chicken’to my cousins.

When our turn came, my uncle managed to persuade my aunt to come along. He sat with her in one compartment while I shared another compartment with my second cousin,Lisa. My first cousin, Lionel, sat alone because he was brave and he had ridden on roller-coasters before. Lisa and I had never been on a roller-coaster before, so we were preparing ourselves for the worst.

Once our safety bars were fastened securely, the roller-coaster started moving. For the first few minutes, it moved slowly and then it very suddenly gathered speed. In the blink of an eye, we suddenly found ourselves hanging Upside down from our seats. Lisa screamed in terror. I was too shocked to scream. My heart felt as if it had fallen into the very bottom of my stomach. The roller-coaster went on three more rounds and then the ride finally ended.

My aunt became sick and she vomited in the toilet. Lisa was shivering with fright while I was numbed and shocked Only my uncle and Lionel seemed to have enjoyed the ride tremendously. We stayed at Sunway Lagoon for one more day, and when Lionel and my uncle wanted to ride on the roller-coaster again, Lisa and my aunt did not want to join them. I decided to do so. It was less shocking the second time around and it was actually more exciting. I cannot wait to ride on longer roller-coasters when I go to Australia this year.
