“Doh, a deer, a female deer ....” I sang cheerfully. It was a bright and sunny morning. I was going to Mount Faber Hill fors hike with my sisters and friends who were also riding their bikeg behind me.

Soon we reached our destination. We padlocked our bicycles together beside a bushy tree. After checking that we have taken along all the things we needed, we started climbing the hill

On the way up to the peak of Mount Faber, we saw many different kinds of trees such as PongPong, Frangipani, Flame 0f The Forest and many others. We also saw many kinds of birds and insects. My friend, John, caught a few spiders and put them into the bottles he had brought along with him.

After an hour or so, some of us were tired and sat on the ground for a rest. Jane was not tired and wandered off to explore the forest.

All of a sudden, Jane came rushing to us and shouted, “Run, run! Quick! I have disturbed a beehive and they are coming after me!”

Not a second later, we heard the buzzing of the bees. Scared out of our wits, we ran in all directions. The bees caught up with us and began to attack us. I was stung all over my body.Even my ears were not spared. My face swelled up like a huge balloon. All of my friends’ faces were also swollen up like mine. Some of the bees in the air suddenly dropped dead on the ground. A burly man, wearing a veil round his head, appeared from nowhere. He smiled at us and sprayed some insecticide in the air. Most of the bees either died or flew away.

The man took off his veil and gently asked us to follow him out of the forest. Luckily we managed to stagger after him and out of the forest at last.

We were later sent to the hospital in his van. Although we were stung quite badly, we were all discharged after spending only one day in the hospital.

Later, we came to know that the man who saved us in time had gone to the forest to collect nectar. A few days later, we went to his house to thank him for saving our lives and presented him with a big hamper of fruits.
