“Just one more game!” I told myself as I stared at the television screen. Day after day, I spent hours playing video games. As a result, I became tired easily, gained weight and found it difficult to concentrate in class.
One day, during a health check-up, the doctor advised me to exercise regularly. His words made me realise that I had to change my lifestyle. I decided to develop a good habit—jogging every morning.
At first, it was not easy. Waking up early felt like torture. Whenever my alarm rang, I was tempted to pull the blanket over my head and go back to sleep. To stay motivated, I pasted reminder notes on my bedroom wall and set a daily alarm on my phone. My parents also encouraged me to continue.
Every morning, I jogged around the neighbourhood park. The cool breeze brushed against my face while the cheerful chirping of birds filled the air. Although I was exhausted after the first few runs, I gradually became stronger and could run longer distances without stopping.
After several months, the results were remarkable. I felt healthier, more energetic and more confident. My concentration in class improved and my teachers noticed that I was more attentive. Best of all, I no longer spent all my free time in front of the television.
Developing the habit of jogging was challenging, but it taught me an important lesson: small changes made consistently can lead to great improvements in life.
