Grandma

The person I respect and love most is my grandmother She is now in her eighties but is still going strong and healthy.

My grandmother has very little hair on her head and the skin on her face is wrinkled and rough. Whenever she speaks to me, she always tries to keep her voice gentle, soft and pleasant.

My grandmother and I communicate and interact quite freely and happily. She is the only person with whom I can share and discuss my problems. I always receive encouragement and advice from her too. My earliest memory of her was when I was a little boy, she used to tell me a lot of stories about the past. She told me how people fought the Japanese soldiers during the second World War. She also related to me many stories about the hardship and natural disasters like flood, earthquake and fire she experienced in the past.

In fact, I have learnt a lot more from her. With her advice and guidance, I realize that our health is the most important thing in our life.

I am now leading a healthy lifestyle like taking food with less salt and sugar, eating more fruits and vegetables, having enough rest and sleep, doing regular exercise. Besides, she taught me how to draw as she was an art teacher when she was young. She likes reading very much though her eyesight is getting worse. Very often, she goes to the library to borrow books on health and will share what she has obtained from the books with all the members of our family.

I love my grandmother very much. She is the one who influences me very much. Whenever I think of her, I will see hopes and my worries will disappear. Thank you, grandma!
