Hobby Island

It was the school vacation. My parents were going to give my sister and me a surprise. They told us they were taking us somewhere. However, it was to be such a surprise that they wer not willing to divulge more to us. We had to wait until they retum from work. We waited in anticipation. My silly sister could not stop pacing up and down in the house.

“Yippee! We are going to Hobby Island to spend our holidays!” my sister exclaimed when the secret was at last out. AI of us started packing our bags excitedly. The next morning, when the sky was still dark, we set off.

When we reached the jetty, we took a ferry to Hobby Island. After about forty-five minutes, we reached our destination,My sister and I came out of the ferry, jumping around the beach with joy.

”Hobby Island is a beautiful place,” my sister exclaimed excitedly. My parents and I nodded in agreement. There were exotic trees and beautiful flowers everywhere. The air was fresh and the wind was blowing gently.

We proceeded to ihe hotel, left our bags there and took a bus ride around Hobby Island. Soon, the bus stopped at a post office. There were lots of people at the post office trying to get the latest stamp collection from the island. We pushed our way through and finally got the stamps.

We walked to a gift shop to buy some souvenirs. There were beautiful presents in the shop. We picked some of them.My father went to queue at the cashier’s counter to pay for the items. Suddenly, I saw a man behind my father trying to steal my father’s wallet. I gasped in shock and shouted, “Thief! Catch him!” this alerted my father and the other people in the shop. The man took to his heels, but we ran after him very closely.

At this moment, a security guard saw the incident and caught hold of the pickpocket. My father was very happy to get his wallet back and he promised me a bicycle on my coming birthday.
