Holidays – How I Spend Mine...

The holidays are here again. Holidays can be spent in many ways. Many parents choose to bring their children to foreign lands – the further the better. Others meet friends and do a lot of window shopping. A few work to earn some money.

My holidays are spent in a simple way. As I come from a simple family, we do not like to be extravagant. That means, I do not go on overseas trips. That does not matter though.

From young, I have been taught to use time wisely. I do a lot of reading in the evenings. In the daytime, I could be doing anything from feeding the cat to flying a kite. I call this time my memory-building period. I also go fishing at a pond close to my house. I do not fish with a net or fishing rod though. I use a glass jar.

On windier days, I make kites out of old newspapers and fly them. A week or two before school starts, things become more serious. I read whatever books I have. I get myself mentally prepared for the next term.

During the holidays, I try to have a fair balance between work and healthy play. That is being fair to myself.
