How to Stay Healthy

Life is fun when we are healthy. Being healthy means we have the energy to do things and we feel great and look good.Just like machines need fuel to run, our bodies need energy to grow and stay healthy. Energy comes from the food we eat Therefore, we need to eat a variety of foods to give us all the different nutrients. Not only we must eat different kinds of foods to keep our bodies healthy, we must also eat the right amounts and the right types of foods.

However, we must also remember to exercise regularly

because..

· it helps our hearts and lungs work better;

· it gives us strong muscles and bones;

· it makes us feel fresh and full of energy; and

· it keeps us at a healthy weight.

Exercise is great fun when we do it together with friends or family. Below are some more tips for you to do exercise daily.

(a) Don’t use the lifts or escalators; instead, take the stairs at MRT stations, flats, offices and other places you will pass through in the course of your days.

(b) If you take the bus, get off it one or two stops earlier and waik the rest of your way.

(c) Help your parents do more housework like sweeping the floor, cleaning the window grills and even washing the clothes or car.

It is really wonderful to be healthy, so let’s all start it from today!
