PSLE CONTINOUS WRITING COMPOSITIONS

“Where is the volcano model?” I cried, clutching my head in panic.

It was the day before the school's Science Exhibition, and my group was putting the finishing touches on our project—a model volcano that demonstrated how eruptions occur. We had spent weeks researching, building and decorating it. The project was important because it would represent our class in the exhibition competition.

To make matters worse, when we tested the volcano, it erupted too forcefully and split down the middle. Everyone stared at the broken model in horror.

“We’re doomed!” groaned my teammate, Sarah.

For a moment, I felt like giving up. However, our teacher reminded us that teamwork was more important than perfection. Determined not to fail, we divided the tasks among ourselves. Sarah repaired the cracks with cardboard and glue. Ben repainted the mountain. I rewrote our presentation cards while another teammate prepared the eruption mixture.

We worked tirelessly throughout the afternoon. Although we were exhausted, nobody complained. Slowly, the volcano began to look even better than before.

The next day, our project attracted many visitors. When the volcano erupted successfully, the audience burst into applause. At the closing ceremony, our team was awarded first prize.

As we stood proudly on stage, I realised that the project was important not because of the trophy we won, but because it taught us perseverance, cooperation and problem-solving. It was an experience I would never forget.
