PSLE Grade A1 Situational Writing Model Answer

Subject: Nomination of Candy Lee for the School Kindness Award

Dear Ms Tan,

I would like to nominate my classmate, Candy Lee, for the School Kindness Award.

On 15 August 2022, at the school canteen, I realised that I had forgotten to bring my wallet and EZ-link card. Seeing that I was worried, Candy kindly lent me her spare EZ-link card so that I could buy my lunch and travel home.

This was not the only time she showed kindness. Last Friday, I saw her buying a bowl of noodles for a Primary 2 boy who was crying because he did not have enough money for lunch.

I believe Candy deserves this award because she is always willing to help those in need and she shows genuine care and concern for others without expecting anything in return.

Thank you for considering my nomination.

Yours sincerely,
John Lim

How to Plan and Write This Situational Writing for a PSLE A1

Step 1: Understand the Purpose

Ask yourself:

  • Who am I? → John Lim

This tells you the email should be formal, respectful and persuasive.
