Playing A Trick On A Classmate

It was already nine o’clock in the morning. A little boy, Tom, was still fast asleep in bed. He was virtually exhausted after a tiring fishing trip the previous night. His classmates, Jane, Florence, George and Anthony had already arrived to pay him a casual visit. Knowing that Tom was still sound asleep, they decided to play a trick on him. They crept stealthily into his room. They intended to scare him out of his wits.

The girls painted their faces and put feathers on their heads. The boys wore masks. They stationed themselves at the four corners of the bed. At this juncture, Anthony tickled Tom’s nose with a feather. Tom’s face twitched. Next, Anthony dripped some water onto Tom’s mouth. Tom stirred in bed thinking that it was raining and the roof was leaking. It was at this time that his classmates popped out to scare him. Tom screamed for dear life. He covered himself with his blanket thinking that ghosts had invaded his room. His friends were giggling among themselves and Tom smelt a rat.

Tom sprang into life and stared blankly at his classmates, much to the amusement of everyone. Everyone burst into laughter and Tom soon joined in. Tom did not expect them to visit him; it came as a surprise to him. Not long, he ushered them to the furnished hall. He entertained his visitors with delicacies, drinks, pop music and games.
