One of the best ways to get ready for Oral Communication is by thinking critically about various topics and forming opinions or gathering relevant experiences.
PSLE Oral Stimulus-Based Conversation (SBC) often revolves around discussing personal experiences, preferences, habits and opinions. To help you prepare effectively, I have compiled a list of 165 discussion questions based on different frequently tested themes and categories. These questions will not only help you practise your speaking skills but also enable you to think deeply about various topics.
Why Preparation Matters
Being well-prepared for Oral Communication is crucial. The ability to express your thoughts coherently and confidently can make a significant difference in your performance. Here are a few tips to help you get started:
Think Critically: Reflect on your personal experiences and opinions. Think about why you feel a certain way about a topic and be ready to explain your reasoning.
Gather Experiences: Draw from your daily life, school activities, hobbies, and interactions with friends and family. Real-life examples make your responses more relatable and engaging.
Form Opinions: Have a clear stance on various topics. Whether you agree or disagree with a statement, be prepared to justify your viewpoint with logical arguments and examples.
Practise Speaking: Practise answering questions aloud. This will help you get comfortable with speaking spontaneously and organising your thoughts quickly.
