Sleeping in a Police Car

It was a very dark and quiet night, Jim, a very daring and experienced burglar, decided to burgle a mansion where a rich businessman lived.

Jim wore a dark grey tee-shirt, a pair of dark pants and masked himself. With a large sack and a torch light, he climbed into the garden of the huge mansion. Being sure that no one was at home, he smashed one of the windows and crept into the living room stealthily. He rummaged through the drawers and cupboards everywhere. After putting all the cash and valuables in his sack, he then made a hasty getaway. But, alas! He smelt the aroma of food from the kitchen. Without thinking further, he proceeded to the kitchen and discovered a roasted chicken and a bottle of red wine on the table. He licked his lips and started feeding himself greedily.

Within a few minutes, Jim finished almost the whole chicken and three-quarters of the red wine. He felt drowsy, and soon, he fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up, he found himself in a police car with two muscular and burly policemen sitting beside him.

“You have been sleeping for a long time,” said one of the policemen with a wicked grin on his face.

Jim was shocked beyond words that he was caught.

“I would never do it again,” Jim mumbled to himself. Then, he hung his head down in shame.
