Taking A Good Rest Before Returning Home

A bespectacled man, John, was returning home after work. He was carrying a portable radio. Feeling exhausted, he yearned for a peaceful place to rest before heading for home. He entered a wooded park. It was peaceful and cool. Visitors were few. He strolled leisurely along the footpaths of this scenic park. The air was fresh and cool. Tall trees towered over him as he passed by. Flowers were in full bloom.They were colourful and lovely, a sight that was memorable. The fragrance of the flowers filled the air. He chose a quiet spot by a shady tree, spread a mat and sat on it happily. The grass was soft. Birds were chirping; bees were buzzing and going from flower to flower; butterflies were fluttering among the colourful flowers.

As he sat on the grassy ground, he was at ease. He stretched his tired limbs and breathed in the fresh air. It was an ideal place for him to relax and to be away from the hectic life in a bustling city. He soon found himself a step closer to nature. Birds and insects went about their way of life in a carefree way, unhindered and unharmed by human beings. Then he turned on the radio and listened to some soft, sentimental music and pop songs. The lovely music helped him to unwind himself happily. He then quenched his thirst with a bottle of soft drink. He eased his hunger pangs by consuming peanuts and potato chips. After two hours or so, he left the park for home.

The wooded park offered a much-needed place for a hectic worker to rest and relax.
