The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Eating Fast Food

The term ‘fast food’ means that the food can be prepared quickly and can be eaten quickly as well. Some examples of fast food would be hamburgers, sandwiches, and french fries.Most fast food originated from the West but there are local kinds of fast food too. For example, we have curry puffs, buns and all sorts of local cakes. However, we tend to eat the local kinds of fast food as snacks, whereas Western fast food is usually served as meals.

There are many fast food restaurants in Singapore. The lmost famous and the one with the most number of outlets Is McDonald’s. There are also other fast food restaurants like Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Long John Silver,All these places serve Western style fast food,

One advantage of eating fast food is that it saves time,especially when you are in a hurry. Depending on how long the queue, you usually do not have to wait long for your food. Also, you need not use forks, spoons, knifes or plates to serve and eat fast food, so it is very convenient if you do not have much time to prepare food.

Another advantage is that all fast food restaurants are air-conditioned so it is very comfortable to eat in a fast food restaurant. You also get to listen to the music that is being played in the restaurants. Fast food restaurants are good places to meet friends to chit-chat. They are also good places to bring children to. You do not have to worry if they make too much noise because the atmosphere is usually quite casual and fun. You also do not have to worry about dressing up properly.

However eating fast food has its disadvantages. One very important disadvantage is that most fast food is usually unhealthy, especially if you eat too much of it. This is because most fast food is fried food. Also, you cannot really get much vegetables or fruits in any fast food restaurants.Most Singaporean children nowadays are obese because they eat too much fast food.

Another disadvantage is that fast food is more expensive compared to the food you get at hawker centres or food courts. Also, there are more varieties of food at hawker centres or food courts, whereas the kinds of fast food available are quite limited.

I prefer to eat at hawker centres or food courts because I like local food more than I like Western food. I also like the wide varieties of food available at hawker centres and food fourts. But I still go to fast food restaurants regularly because ol my friends enjoy going there.
