The Advantages And Disadvantages of Watching Movies At Home Instead Of Going To The Cinema

Going to the cinema to watch movies is one of most Singaporeans’ favourite pastimes. There are many cinemas in Singapore and almost all the cinemas in Singapore are all modern, comfortable and well-equipped. However, there are quite a few Singaporeans who prefer to watch movies at home, especially when they are now able to buy big screen televisions and powerful sound systems.

One advantage of watching movies at home instead of loing to the cinema is that it is sometimes more convenient,We need not dress up and get ready and travel to the cinema.Wle can watch movies in our pyjamas or nightgown even, if we just stay at home to watch movies. When we are at home, we can also watch movies anytime we want to and we do not have to worry about coming home late and the availability of transport.

Another advantage of watching movies at home is you get many choices. If you miss watching a particular movie at the cinema, you can always rent the video or laser disc to watch later. Sometimes, you can also get to see movies that are not released at the cinemas. It is also cheaper for the whole family to rent videos or laser discs to watch at home.

However, there are some disadvantages of watching movies at home. Unless your house is very well-equipped with a big screen television and a good sound system, you may not be able to experience the special effects like how it would be if you watch the movie in a cinema. This is especially true if it is an action movie or if the movie is full of special effects. Also, not everybody can afford to buy a good entertainment system for their home.

Sometimes, it is more fun going to the cinema to watch a movie than staying at home to watch a movie because it is considered an outing. Usually, most cinemas are near shopping centres, so we could do our shopping first before watching a movie. Most cinemas are also very comfortable and fun to go to.

I prefer to stay at home to watch movies because would waste time going to the nearest cinema, as my home is not very near any cinema. I also get to save some money because I need not travel and my whole family can enjoy the movie with me.
