The Love Pet

“Clever boy,” said Sam to his puppy while he was teaching It to balance a ball on its nose. The puppy was very cute, funny and obedient. Almost everyday, Sam would train it to perform some tricks.

One day, Sam decided to bring his puppy for a stroll. In order to attract people around, Sam decided to direct his puppy to perform some tricks at the roadside. While the puppy was balancing a ball on its nose, the ball rolled onto the road. The puppy ran as fast as it could after the ball. Unfortunately, a van was speeding towards it. ‘Bang!’ The poor puppy was hit and run over by the van. The driver drove off and did not even bother about the poor puppy. The puppy was lying on the road, yelping in pain. Sam immediately took the puppy to the vet.

The vet told Sam that though the puppy could survive, it would be limping for life because one of its legs was broken. Sam felt a little relieved. He really did not mind that his puppy would be limping and would not be able to perform tricks anymore. It was enough for him to see his puppy alive and waiting at the door for him to return from school.
