The Woes Of An Absent-Minded Customer

It was a sunny afternoon. A heavily-tattooed male foreigner, James, was on a shopping spree along Orchard Road. He went from shop to shop. The shops sold perfume, shirts, jeans, belts, handicrafts, shoes, handkerchiefs, cameras and watches. The shops were well-lit and air-conditioned. Salesgirls were having a hectic time as cash and article exchanged hands quickly. James were delighted to see a wide range of products available. He purchased a leather briefcase, an expensive wallet, a Japanese-made camera, ten small bottles of perfume, three Hawaiian shirts, a gold Rolex watch and a dozen handkerchiefs. He was in high spirits as he made his way to another shopping centre. After half an hour of window-shopping, he was exhausted, hungry and thirsty. He left all what he had bought on the ground.

Soon he made his way to a fast-food restaurant in the vicinity. He trudged wearily along the pavement. As soon as he reached the restaurant, he rushed for a vacant seat at a corner. The scene was packed with teenagers and parents. He ordered his meal and paid the bill promptly. After his meal, he suddenly recalled that he had left his bags of merchandise behind at a shopping centre. He dashed to the scene but there was no sign of his bags. They were all gone. He sighed heavily and was in tears. He had spent quite a fortune on them.

He regretted his absent-mindedness and paid dearly for it!
