Throwing Up Her Tantrums

It was around one p.m. A teenager, Peggy, was at home. She was writing a letter to her pen-pal in Hongkong. As she was writing, her pen ran out of ink. She got up to look for a spare pen. She combed her room for it but it was fruitless. Soon she flew into a rage. She tore up her letter and flung her pillow and bolster to the floor. She screamed for her doting mother; she banged the table with her fist; she strewn her clothes all over the floor. A spoilt child, Peggy was throwing up her tantrum. Her mother, Mrs. Tang, rushed into her room on hearing the commotion. On seeing Peggy so visibly upset, she rushed over and comforted her, “Don’t be so upset, my dear. I go and buy another pen now.”

Two hours later, Peggy was looking for a pair of socks. She wanted to go for a stroll in public park. She could not find any socks. She was frustrated. She looked into her drawer. There was none. She shook her head in disbelief. “No, no. How can it be? I kept it here last night. Who must have taken it?” she screamed. In anger, she emptied the contents of the drawer onto the floor. She then flung a vase to the floor. It was smashed to pieces. She was throwing up another tantrum. Her mother later came in to clean up the mess.

At around nine p.m. Peggy was hungry. She entered the kitchen to look for snacks. She looked into a biscuit tin and yearned for some crispy biscuits. She found none. She flung it to the floor, kicked it and flattened it with a hammer. It was another Peggy’s tantrum.
