To Catch a Thief

Madam Fatimah rears chickens for a living. She has a small woop in her backyard. Here, she houses the hens and cockerels. Ever since her husband passed away, Madam Fatimah has been rearing chickens. She sells the eggs to pay for her food and other xpense. Madam Fatimah lives in an old house with her ten year old daughter, Siti.

One morning, Madam Fatimah discovered a strange thing. There were no eggs to collect. Not a single one. She was puzzled. The hens never failed to give her eggs. But, she forgot about it She hoped that there would be eggs on the next day. However, there were no eggs even after a week had passed. Madam Fatimah suspected that someone might have been stealing the eggs.

She decided to lay a trap. She dug a deep hole. Then she covered its mouth with some branches and dried leaves. On a fairly strong branch, she placed a nest of eggs she had bought,She next morning, she had caught the thief. There in the hole was a three-metre long python.
