Too Greedy

It was very dark. In fact, it was so dark that I could not even see my hand in front of my face! I moved very, very slowly as I was afraid that I would fall into a dungeon or a booby trap I was scared out of my wits. My hands trembled and my teeth were chattering. I felt a cold chill go down my spine.

Suddenly, I felt someone tap my shoulders. I screamed loudly and my echo answered back several times. It sounded like as if a thousand people were answering to my scream. I could not tell where I was, but all I knew was that the place was very eerie. All of a sudden, a deep voice boomed above me.

“I shall eat you for my supper, little boy!” I ran as fast as my two legs could carry me. Suddenly, I felt as if I was falling from a clif. “Bump” I landed on the ground and passed out.

When I regained consciousness, I felt my head spinning like a top. My whole body was paralysed. All of a sudden, a gush of wind swept me away. I landed on some nails and shrieked in pain. A devil appeared in front of me and spoke in a shrill voice.

“You greedy fat bum. Serve you right for eating such a heavy dinner. Now that you are in hell, I shall punish you,”I begged for mercy and even pleaded “Oh, Oh, please don’t punish me. I was just hungry.” He gave me a sly smile and I shouted,”Help! Help! Save me!” I woke up in a fright. I was perspiring. My pyjamas was soaked through with my sweat. It took me some time before I could calm myself down. I would never feast on heavy meals for supper again.
