PSLE CONTINOUS WRITING COMPOSITIONS

I had always admired the members of the school football team. They ran confidently across the field, passing the ball skillfully and working together as a team. Although I enjoyed watching them, I had never dared to join because I was afraid of making mistakes.
One day, a sign-up form for the school's football trial was announced. My best friend encouraged me to give it a try. After much hesitation, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and signed up.
In preparation for the trial, I borrowed a book about football techniques from the library and watched videos to learn the rules of the game. I also practised dribbling and passing at the nearby park every evening. Despite my efforts, I still felt nervous on the day of the trial.
When the trial began, my heart pounded like a drum. At first, I made several mistakes and nearly gave up. However, I remembered my friend's encouragement and continued trying my best. Gradually, I became more confident and even managed to make an accurate pass that led to a goal.
A week later, the results were released. To my delight, I was selected as a reserve player for the school team. Although I was not in the starting line-up, I felt extremely proud of myself.
From this experience, I learnt that trying something new may be frightening at first, but it often leads to growth and unexpected opportunities. If we never try, we will never know what we are capable of achieving.
