Jenny was lonely and unpopular as she was rude impatient and unfriendly. Every now and then, she shouted at anyone who did not follow what she said, including her parents Her parents had tried their best to change her but failed.
One day, her father met with one of his old neighbours, He confided in his neighbour about his daughter. Both of them chatted for a long time and his neighbour finally came up with an idea. Jenny’s father decided to put it into action.
The next morning, Jenny’s father went to a pet shop to buy Jenny a very cute puppy. It was brownish with some black patches on its body. Jenny was very delighted but did not thank her father at all.
That evening, Jenny played with the puppy. She forgot totally to complete the homework assigned by her teacher. Her mother went up to her and tried to remind her of the homework. Jenny stared at her mother for a while and walked back to her room without a word.
At this moment, Jenny’s father stood up and walked straight to her room. When he saw the puppy lying beside his daughter who was watching television attentively, he gave the puppy a sudden kick. The poor little puppy started whinning in great pain. Jenny was very shocked and shouted at her father. She insisted her father should give her an explanation for his kick. She even said that it was very cruel of him to kick the puppy when it had not done anything wrong.
With a smile, Jenny’s father sat face to face with his daughter. He admitted that he was very wrong to do such a thing. However, he also reminded Jenny that she had been behaving the same way too. He cited many examples of her bad behaviours in the past. Most of the times, she was rude to them They both felt not only annoyed but deeply hurt in their hearts. When Jenny heard that, her face turned red and her tears began welling up in her eyes. She realized that she was absolutely wrong. Unhesitantly she apologized to her father and begged for his forgiveness. Her father pat Jenny’s head and said he and her mother would always love her.
From that day onwards, Jenny really turned a new leaf of life. She made a total change in her behaviour and attitude. She showed her concern, care and love for almost everyone around.
