Twenty Crabs Appeared Outside A Posh Hotel

One late morning, twenty crabs were crawling up a grassy slope outside a posh hotel. Women shoppers passed by and spotted these ugly-looking crabs. They started shrieking with terror and were seen scampering away for dear life. These large crabs must have been inadvertently left behind by an absent-minded shopper. As the day wore on, more and more passersby and shoppers stopped and peered at the crabs from a safe distance. They watched the crabs in fascination. City dwellers had hardly any time nor an opportunity to watch crabs roaming freely. It was a rare chance to come by and they vowed not to miss it. At this juncture, the presence of foreign shoppers and mischievous teenagers might have sent the crabs scampering away. Some naughty boys used twigs to tease them, sending them scurrying for cover. Two little girls plucked up enough courage and crept stealthily up to them. The crabs sensed their presence and raised their pincers menacingly. Soon they advanced on the girls, sending them retreating in alarm. Often their bites proved to be painful.

Soon the crowd swelled to nearly a hundred. There pandemonium on the road as buses came screeching to a stop. Motorists braked abruptly to avoid nasty accidents. Tempers flared as motorists honked incessantly. There was a traffic jam as the crowd spilled onto the road. Meanwhile, a traffic policeman came along and beckoned the crowd to move as they were obstructing the traffic flow. Two uniformed security guards of the hotel appeared and removed the crabs from the scene.
