Victimized By A Bully

One late Friday morning, a patron, Tom, was queuing up to buy cinema tickets at the box-office. He wanted to purchase two stall tickets. Each tickets cost seven dollars. The tickets were for the current 11.00 a.m. show. The cinema was screening The Batman Return’. Tom felt at ease as the queue was short and orderly. There was no one behind him.Humming a tune, he waited patiently for his turn. All of a sudden someone shoved Tom aside. He was taken aback and flew into a rage Tom wanted to confront the culprit. However, Tom backed off when a burly man faced him. The burly man growled at Tom, “I am Charles. Everyone knows me by sight. Everyone gives way to me, especially in a queue. Nobody stands in my way! You don’t want a fractured nose, do you?” The bully moved forward, towering over Tom. Tom was shivering with fright and lined up discreetly behind him.

Thinking that his ordeal was over, Tom sighed with relief. However, the bully did not leave him in peace for the next ten minutes or so. The bully screamed at Tom, “You can’t line up behind me. I command you to stand at that far corner. You can only make your purchase after I have bought my ticket! Is that clear?” Tom scrambled out of the way and was perspiring profusely.
