Dear Sir,

It gives me great pleasure to write an thank you about the assistance offered to me by two of your officers when my car was stranded in the middle of the night. The only public telephone in the vicinity was out of order.

The incident happened at Tanah Merah Road at about 2:00 am on 27 May 1994. I just could not start my car and was quite at a loss as to what to do. Then two officers,Officer Magus Tan and Officer Katamuthu turned up in their patrol vehicle and offered to help. Not only did they take me to a public telephone almost a kilmetre from the location, but Officer Katamuthu even gave me a ten cents coin with which to call a repair service.

I think it is actions like this that endear our magnificent police force to the public. I wish to place a record of my sincere thanks to the officers and to the police department.
