Write a narrative essay about a day on an island resort

We Singaporeans do not need to go far in order to enjoy an island resort. Our Sentosa has as many facilities as most islands and is so close by that we can go up and down everyday. My family thought so and so we went on a one day trip to Sentosa — the island of tranquility.

We went across by cable car which in itself was an adventure. We had a fine view of Singapore from the air — like if we were in a helicopter. Once we arrived in Sentosa, we took the monorail to Fort Siloso. This was because during our last visit we had missed the fort. We walked about in it for about an hour and imagined that we were the defenders of the island. The history of the fort was written on the walls and we read it all. Our next stop was the beach. We swam the whole day and got sunburnt all over.

After lazing around in the sun we went to the food centre and had a grand dinner. It was my sister’s first pay day and she decided, or was rather persuaded, to give us a treat. After that it was walking distance to the dancing waters show. This was what fascinated me most about Sentosa. It was amazing that the waters seemed so alive and danced to the music that was played. I could have seen the show the whole night, but it ended at 10:00pm.

We caught the ferry and came home, tired but happy.
