Write a story about a “Kind Person”.

Grandma Lim lived by herself in her flat. She was a helpful old lady though she herself had no one to look after her. Everyday, she went to the market in the morning and bought vegetables and then came home and cooked them. This was her daily routine Then one day, while she was buying vegetables, she felt someone grab her handbag. She was startled and screamed out. She looked up, and saw a young girl running away. Passers by chased the girl and caught her and made her hand over the handbag to Grandma Lim. They wanted to call the police but Grandma Lim told them not to.

Then she took the girl aside and spoke to her. She found out everything about her. Her name was Josephine and she was an orphan. She had nowhere to live and was too young to find work. Grandma Lim listened to her sad story. At the end, she scolded the girl for stealing and then invited her home to live with her. “I am also an orphan and need someone to look after me,” she explained. The girl was touched by her kindness and burst into tears. She agreed to live with Grandma Lim and went home with her.

Now when people see Josephine, they have some good things to say about her. She is also a helpful girl, not only towards Grandma Lim but to the other people in the village. It shows that a kind heart is very important when we deal with people. Sometimes kindness works where discipline does not.
